Like at lot of people I’m into my RSS Feeds, there a great way to keep up with what’s going on..
My choice for feed viewing is Google Reader.it’s always there, up to date and thanks to ‘Google Chrome’ available offline as a desktop app…
However sometimes keeping up with the news, interests and hobbies can be a challenge, especially when you have over 250 feeds to keep on top of.
Alltop has been around for a few months and is now starting to make sense. It’s very recent redesign (V2.0) has made for a clear and clutter free user experience.
With over 5 million topics available Alltop’s about page defines it’s purpose very well.
“We help you explore your passions by collecting stories from “all the top” sites on the web”
Alltop gives you a number of ways to find the topics and blogs your looking for..
Search by keyword
View by category (for example, Photography, Tech, Travel)
View by topic name
This is nothing new, there are a lot of these sites around (http://originalsignal.com/) (popurls.com), and a lot of aggregator services but Alltop is a very clean and user friendly service.
For me; Alltop is becoming as addictive and counter productive for me as the Lifehacker blog…
Although it’s not going to replace my Google Reader it might keep my reader subscriptions down to a manageable level.
