WSS 3.0 vs MOSS 2007
Whats the difference between WSS & MOSS?
I hear the question at least once a week and apart from the obvious cost answer I’ve found that pointing people in the direction of the following site seems to do the trick. WSS 3.0 is free* and MOSS is not. *Free doesn’t mean hosting your Extranet or Internet sites without the proper licenses (which are not free). Free does mean you pay nothing for the actual software. There are some pretty big differences between WSS 3.0 and MOSS and the MS comparison site makes these differences. If only licensing was easy to understand.
