Foursquare
So I’m using Foursquare ..
Whats the point? I’m not sure and I’m not 100% convinced yet but the only way to see if it works well for me is to try it.
Foursquare is used to “check-in”, which is a way of telling people/friends your whereabouts. When you check-in somewhere, Foursquare tells your friends where they can find you and recommend places to go & things to do nearby. You can check-in any place - cafes, bars, restaurants, parks, homes, offices, shops..
I can see some scenarios where it might be good but it’s success will be based on the ease of use and overall user experience.
It could be a good way of tracking the where abouts of C5 Alliance team members and if we ever get a second (overflow) office it could work..
But then again we all (most of us) use our instant messenger to show our location/status.
On a positive, clearly a number of people already using it in Jersey as a few locations have already been added.
So thats another online profile to maintain, but it’s another App on the iPhone as well and a chance to play with location based technology.
